DEBRIGARH NATURE CAMP (HIRAKUD) » WHERE TO STAY

 

Throughout the year visitors can stay in Debrigarh Nature Camp inside the wilderness of the sanctuary. Debrigarh Nature Camp has 20 luxury rooms for night stay by tourists with all modern facilities. 8 rooms in Bison Block (double bedded, 2+1child) have glass walls overlooking Hirakud Lake,Jungle and grasslands. 6 Stargazing Cottages (double bedded, 2+1child)) with glass roofs (withmotorized retractable sliders below toughened glass roof for closure of glass as per convenience of visitors) for viewing stars/constellations & planets in night sky - is introduced for tourists for the first time in Odisha. Another 6 Cottages ( Pruthivi, Akash, Agni, Bayu, Jal all double bedded 2+1child, Bhumi cottage 4bedded) with balcony facing Hirakud and forest on three sides. All the rooms are Air Conditioned and are with classy furnishings to make night stay comfortable, room service is round the clock, day & night. The restaurant cum dining adds beauty to the landscape. The beautiful view of the Hirakud lake from the rooms & dining adds to the indulgence making the Nature Camp an ideal holiday gateway. All the accommodations in the Nature Camp are Lake facing on one side and forest on the other. At night most often wild animals visit the backyard of the Camp.Visitors will be thrilled to see the vast stretches of Sal forests on the bank of Hirakud reservoir dotted with meadows and forested islands. Debrigarh Nature Camp is managed by the local community under supervision of Ecotourism wing of Hirakud Wildlife Division, Forest Department, Govt of Odisha. Variety of local Odia cuisine including Hirakud Fish & chicken is prepared by the local community and served to visitors in nature camp. The restaurant/ dinning & library is just on the edge of Hirakud Reservoir where tourists can have full view, as well as night view of the reservoir.

Complementary for Night Stay visitors: Breakfast, Lunch, evening tea & snacks, dinner (Local cuisine both veg & Nonveg including Hirakud Fish, chicken) is included in room tariff. 10 to 15 minutes boat ride in Hirakud Lake (from nature camp towards Zeropoint) is complementary beside Trekking, Cycling, Birding. Stay for drivers is available free of cost.

  • Similipal Road closure of the Kalikaprasad to Lanjighasara Forest Road
    Due to the temporary closure of the Kalikaprasad to Lanjighasara Forest Road, all visitors with bookings for Gurguria and Kumari are requested to access the destination via the Jamuani Check Gate. Please note that this alternative route will add approximately 4 hours to your travel time. We advise all visitors to plan their journey accordingly to ensure a smooth and timely arrival.
  • Closure Of Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary For Day Visitors
    This is to inform all the Day Visitors / Tourists that Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary will remain closed for tourists /Day visitors from 01.07.2025 to 30.09.2025 (tentative) in accordance with regular management practice of the sanctuary. However the ecotourism complex at Gohirabala shall remain open for Night Stay visitors.
  • Satkosia Sands Resort Boating Closed
    Due To Heavy Rainfall The water level is rising at River Mahanadi for which Boating is closed at Sakosia Gorge Sanctuary from 07.07.2025 to 30.09.2025.
  • Closure Of Similipal Tiger Reserve from 01.07.2025
    This is to inform all the Visitors/ Tourists that Similipal Tiger Reserve will remain closed for tourists/visitors from 01.07.2025 for Monsoon. The date of re-opening will be notified and published in daily newspapers. However, the ecotourism complex at Jamuani, Gurgudia, Kumari, Barehipani and Ramtirtha shall remain open for Night Stay visitors.
